MGSA SYMPOSIUM 2011
The 22nd biennial international symposium of the Modern Greek Studies Association took place October 13-16, 2011 at New York University. To all of you: thank you for your support of the MGSA and its most recent, landmark symposium, in which record numbers of young scholars participated. Our gratitude goes to Elsa Amanatidou and Liana Theodoratou and their respective committees, who raised the bar very high.

The John O. Iatrides Best Dissertation Prize
The selection committees offer our congratulations to Will and Kyriakos, and our thanks and appreciation to the other students who submitted work for consideration this year.
Translation Prize Awarded
The Elizabeth Constantinides Translation Prize for 2011 was awarded to Gonda Van Steen for her translation of Aris Alexandrou's "Antigone."The committee congratulates Gonda on her achievement.
The Columbia University Center for Digital Research and Scholarship has just released an interview on YouTube with Dr. Panourgiá who discusses how the book's accompanying website came to be.
