The 27TH MGSA SYMPOSIUM

The Local Arrangements Committee of the 27th MGSA Symposium (to be held at York University, Toronto on October 13-16, 2022) is making exhibition space available to MGSA members, non-members, publishers, and educational and cultural organizations.

In past weeks, publishers have been notified of our Association's policies for book exhibition (see below).

We write now to inform individual MGSA members that:

Current members of the MGSA may donate one copy of their most recent book(s) + drop off order forms or discount forms for display: at no cost

Non-members of the MGSA may mail one copy of their most recent book(s) + order forms for display: at the cost of $50.

Publishers and Educational and Cultural Organizations:

Publishers and educational and cultural organizations may send books + order forms and brochures at the cost of $100 for a display of the size of about half a table and $200 for a full table. If they choose to send in only one book, the cost is $50. These fees will be waived for foundations and organizations that have made grants to the MGSA in support of this Symposium.

We urge publishers to select materials that are directly related to modern Greece and Cyprus.

MGSA SYMPOSIUM BOOK EXHIBIT

The Local Arrangements Committee for the 27th MGSA Symposium , to be held on 13-16 October, 2022, at York University, Toronto, is making exhibition space available to publishers, educational and cultural organizations. Please consult the following guidelines and contact MGSA Executive Director, Vangelis Calotychos, at mgsa.org@gmail.com to make the necessary arrangements for shipping books and/or brochures and for delivering payments. 

Publishers and educational and cultural organizations may send books + order forms and brochures at the cost of $100 for a display of the size of about half a table and $200 for a full table. If they choose to send in only one book, the cost is $50. (These fees will be waived for foundations and organizations that have made grants to the MGSA in support of this Symposium.)

We urge publishers to select materials that are directly related to modern Greece, Cyprus & the Greek diaspora. The MGSA’s focus is the study of not only post-independence Greece but also the period of Ottoman rule and the later Byzantine Empire, as well as those aspects of early Byzantine, Hellenistic, and Classical times that have a bearing on the modern period (https://www.mgsa.org). 

The MGSA prefers payment in USD via checks made out to the “Modern Greek Studies Association (MGSA)” with memo line: “MGSA Symposium Book Exhibit.” Payment should be sent to MGSA Executive Director, 64 Vassar Avenue, Providence, RI 02906. 

Publishers wishing to pay by wire transfer should notify the MGSA Executive Director at mgsa.org@gmail.com for further details.

Note: Please do NOT send any packages to the Symposium venue, as the hotel desk will charge us (and you) additional fees. 

Once payment has been received, all materials need to be mailed to the address below, in a timely fashion.
